Free Aesthetic Consultation in Cape Town

A consultation with one of our doctors to work out which aesthetic treatments suit your face and your skin — before you spend anything on them.

A free aesthetic consultation is a 30-minute appointment with a doctor at Fluid Medical in Gardens, Cape Town. Your skin and facial structure are examined, your concerns are discussed in the order that matters to you, and you leave with a plan and a price. Nothing is booked on the day unless you ask for it.

Most people arrive knowing what bothers them without knowing what treats it. Lines that look like they need relaxing sometimes need volume; skin that looks like it needs a treatment sometimes needs a change of skincare first. Working that out properly is what this appointment is for.

Who a Free Aesthetic Consultation Is For

  • Anyone considering aesthetic treatment for the first time, who wants to understand the options before committing to one
  • Patients who have had treatment elsewhere and were not happy with the result, or were never told what was used
  • Anyone with a functional concern — jaw clenching, excessive sweating, tension headaches — that is treatable with the same techniques used cosmetically
  • Patients with a skin concern such as acne, scarring, pigmentation or texture, who do not know which treatment addresses it
  • Anyone weighing up cost, who wants a realistic figure and a realistic timeline before deciding

If you already know exactly what you want and have had it before, you can book that treatment directly. This consultation exists for everyone else.

What the Consultation Covers

Every aesthetic treatment offered at Fluid Medical is on the table, and which of them come up depends entirely on what you raise.

Lines and facial expression. Anti-wrinkle injections soften the lines created by repeated muscle movement — frown lines, forehead lines, the lines at the outer eye, lip lines, neck bands. The same technique lifts the brow, softens a gummy smile, and slims the jaw where the chewing muscle has become overdeveloped.

Volume and facial structure. Hyaluronic acid filler restores volume where it has been lost and defines structure where it is wanted — lips, cheeks, jawline, chin, the hollow beneath the eye. Collagen biostimulators work differently, prompting your own collagen production over several months rather than adding volume directly.

Skin quality and texture. Microneedling, mesotherapy, skin boosters and treatments that use a small sample of your own blood to stimulate repair all work on the surface and structure of the skin itself, rather than on muscle or volume. These are the treatments most often needed first, and most often skipped.

Acne and scarring. Active acne, acne scarring, subcision for tethered scars, and the management of keloid and hypertrophic scars.

Hair. Assessment of hair thinning and loss, and the treatments available for it.

Functional treatments. Teeth grinding and jaw clenching, excessive sweating, and tension headaches are all medical concerns treated with techniques that developed in aesthetic practice. Other concerns, including intimate health, can be raised in the consultation and are discussed privately.

Your doctor will tell you where a treatment is not appropriate, and where doing nothing is the right answer. Both happen regularly.

What Happens in the Consultation

Your doctor takes a history first — your general health, medication, previous aesthetic treatment, and anything that changes what is safe or sensible for you. Then the part that matters most: what you see when you look in the mirror, in your words rather than clinical ones.

The examination assesses your skin, your facial proportions, and how your muscles move, because a face at rest and a face in expression are two different assessments. From that, our doctors set out what is suitable, what each option does and does not do, roughly how long it lasts, and what it costs.

You leave with a plan you can take away and think about. Consultations at Fluid Medical in Gardens, Cape Town are unhurried by design, and this one is no different.

Why the Consultation Is Free

Because the wrong treatment is the expensive one.

Aesthetic medicine is bought by concern and sold by product, and the gap between the two is where people end up with results they did not want and cannot easily undo. Removing the cost of the first conversation removes the reason to skip it.

There is no obligation attached. If the outcome is that nothing is needed, or that the sensible next step is something we do not offer, that is what your doctor will tell you.

What This Appointment Does Not Cover

This is an assessment rather than a treatment appointment. Some treatments can be done inside the 30 minutes allocated, where that is clinically appropriate and you would like to go ahead on the day. Anything else is scheduled for a later date.

Where a skin concern turns out to need medical rather than aesthetic management — severe or persistent acne, rosacea, a lesion that needs examining properly — that is handled as a standard consultation with a doctor, and normal consultation fees apply. Your doctor will tell you at the time rather than afterwards.
