Frequently Ask Question

What are the risks of botulinum toxin?

Botulinum Toxin is relatively safe considering the toxic dose is more than 10 times greater than the doses used in aesthetics. The main risks of Botulinum Toxin are paralysing a muscle that we do not want to paralyse. This can be avoided by skilled injectors knowing their anatomy. In the unlikely case that the wrong muscle is paralysed, luckily the muscle regains function in a few weeks.

How do fillers work?

While there are many different types of filler, the most commonly used the consist of Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in our skin, and it has a very high capacity to absorb water. This is what allows for the volumising affect of fillers.

Are there risks with filler?

If filler is injected into a blood vessel, it may cause a vascular occlusion. We will know this is happening when the area turns white. Luckily, by injecting hyaluronidase, one can dissolve the filler, and regain blood flow.

What is PRP and why does it have such strong regenerative effects?

PRP is short for Platelet Rich Plasma. It comes from your own blood, which we spin down, to isolate serum rich in healing growth factors. There is 0 risk of allergic reaction, since it is your own blood.

What can I use the callout service for?

Call-out service can be used for any general medical consult, aesthetic consult, and longevity consult. We can do small procedures like stitches too. However, it is not an emergency service. In case of emergency, call an ambulance.

Does Fluid Medical accept medical aid?
